Nicolas Hoepffner
Nicolas Hoepffner received a PhD in Oceanography at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada. He retired from the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission where he acted as Scientific Officer from 1993 to 2018. There, he was responsible for different successive institutional projects / programmes focusing on phytoplankton ecophysiology, primary production and the application of satellite-derived ocean colour data to assess water quality in the marine and coastal environment. He has been member of international boards and committees such as the International Ocean Colour Coordinating Group, Copernicus Marine Service Science and Technique Advisory Committee, the European Space Agency Earth Science Advisory Committee.
